Institute for Survivors of Sexual Violence, Inc.

ISSV is a nonprofit group of volunteer licensed mental health professionals. All facilitators are trained in Rapid Resolution Therapy® and committed to eliminating ongoing, negative effects that have resulted from sexual violence.

What Makes Rapid Resolution Therapy® (RRT) Different?

Many therapies take the approach that to get things better people have to really work hard. Even reliving what happened.

With RRT you don’t have to work hard at all. Treatment for sexual trauma is effective, painless and rapid. Things shift from inside out so that ongoing, negative effects that have been disturbing and disruptive can be completely eliminated:

Our Vision

Any adult who doesn’t have the financial resources and has been suffering from ongoing effects of sexual violence will have access to fast and effective treatment, free of financial barrier. Survivors of sexual violence will experience relief and be free of negative effects within 1-3 sessions using Rapid Resolution Therapy.

Our Mission

To provide effective, non-invasive, rapid therapeutic services to survivors of sexual violence, free of financial barrier.
To partner with like-minded organizations in order to reach survivors in need.
To maintain a database of highly trained mental health professionals to provide these services.
To facilitate and/or fund research into the resolution of the ongoing effects of sexual violence.

Background

The Institute for Survivors of Sexual Violence, Inc. (ISSV) began in Florida, in June 2002, as a branch of the Institute of Rapid Resolution Therapy (IRRT), a Rapid Resolution Therapy (RRT) training institute for mental health professionals. ISSV was founded by Dr. Jon Connelly, also the founder of RRT, for the purpose of making effective psychotherapy available to survivors of sexual violence, without financial barrier.

ISSV’s activity remained relatively sporadic until early 2020, when members of the board and a number of volunteers began to meet monthly to envision and develop a strategic plan and structured programs. By early 2021, research, marketing endeavors, and a pilot program in Florida were well underway, and services continue to this day. We hope to expand nationally and internationally in the coming years.
